¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! Welcome to Spanish class!
We are your children’s Spanish teachers, Murielle Montione, Amanda Silva and Zach D’Orsi.
This year once again, all first to fourth grade students will study Spanish as part of the curriculum. We will be instructing each class for 40 minutes, twice every 6 day cycle. The program is designed to incorporate elements of each respective grade level’s curriculum with the Massachusetts Frameworks for Foreign Language Instruction. This is accomplished through the use of songs, dances, games, and stories. In the first two years, the focus is on listening and speaking. However, as the students progress in third and fourth grades, reading and writing skills increase and are assessed on a regular basis.
Hopefully your children will share their newfound knowledge with you, and we encourage you to practice the new words and phrases as often as possible. We also invite you to browse our Spanish website where you will find monthly updates on each grade level’s curriculum, as well as current vocabulary, songs, and links to educational websites.
If you have any questions or if you would just like to introduce yourself, the best way is by email. We can also arrange an appointment to meet in person.
Feel free to take one of our informational packets at the Open House!
